What is LiFi & How it Works?

While 2G, 3G and 4G are the emerging standards in Cellular network, it now seems that after WiFi ac standard, here comes an all new technology based on WiFi which is dubbed as Li-Fi which is based on the Light. In this technology, One watt of LED light bulb which can connect up to 4 devices to Internet. Though, this LiFi promises to offer around 150Mbps, there are many limitations in this technology which we will be highlighting in the due course of this article. As a part of testing, this does support by some unknown devices.

How LiFi Works?

 Basically, a light bulb is embedded with microchips which can produce data rates for as fast as 150Mbps which is faster than the average broadband connection in China. It may still work indoors, but once the light gets cut off, the data speed goes for a toss. The number of light bulbs that can be used is practically limitless compared with base stations.
